Medical Microdermabrasion

Also known as “The Lunchtime Peel”, treatments last 15-60 minutes depending on the area and depth of treatment. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that treats clogged pores, fine lines, uneven skin tone, acne scars and generally stimulates a healthy glow by stimulating collagen growth.

Q. How does it work?
A.
A precision handpiece directs a stream of inert crystals over the surface of the skin combined with a mild suction to exfoliate the uppermost layers of skin. The massaging effect creates a flushing and cleansing below the skin surface and also stimulates blood flow, so improving oxygen delivery and promoting cell renewal.

Q. What can I expect after treatments?
A.
Immediately after treatment the skin feels softer and will appear pink for a few hours. Each treatment last 15-60 minutes. On average, a full face takes about 30 minutes. Nourishing vitamin serum or ointment may be applied followed by sunscreen. It is important to avoid sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment and to wear sunscreen SPF 30.

Q. How many treatments will I need?
A.
This will be decided during your consultation, but usually a course of six sessions provides maximal results.
